What will you wear these holidays? The Christmas Lunch / Thanksgiving edit featuring Erdem Anja Embellished Cloqué Dress

I do love planning options for what to wear at Christmas. In particular for me, being from the UK, it's all about Christmas Day. However as we have a lot of American readers on Shoeniverse, I thought I'd get some of these posts in a little early as it might be something that you wish to consider for Thanksgiving at the end of November.

The details of this gown are just exquisite. It's befitting of a true Haute Couture runway gown, and the colour is perfect for winter.

So if I could pick any dress for Christmas Day this would be the one. However this then starts to make me think, naturally, about what shoes to wear. So many options! So here are the ones that immediately came to mind when I first tried to think about what I'd pair with this pretty little dress.

Here we go, my picks are as follows:

The Free People Edit - my three favourite pieces

Black Everyday Distressed Boot

I've never actually really invested too much time admiring The Free People's offering when sourcing new items to feature here on Shoeniverse, but after finding these three gorgeous pieces, I feel that I might just be missing a trick. The boots are ridiculously cute and wearable every day (yes, yes - hence the name, I get it) and the top and soft jacket below would work perfectly together too. Just add leather pants or a skirt, or just a pair of charcoal grey jeans, and you are good to go.

Cute hat too.

The Autumn Luxe Edit - featuring Paco Rabanne Black Womens Low Leather High Heel Ankle Shoes

Well, these are a surprise! In particular I'm rather fond of the side profile. Gloriously over the top style with an unabashed luxury finish, these heels are genuinely one of the most beautiful pairs of ankle skimmers that I've seen in some time.

Please, someone buy them for me?

They deserve to be worn alongside beautiful simple pieces and glorious natural materials. I've added splashed of wool, leather and fuchsia silk to incorporate them into a fantastically fashionable and utterly wearable outfit for AW14.

The NEW BALANCE Fitness Edit

Grey 910 Trail Running Sneaker
Abzorb® cushioning enhances the comfort of a rugged trail shoe crafted with a breathable mesh upper and waterproof gore-tex® lining. A gusseted tongue seals debris out, while rock stop® technology offers added foot protection on rough terrain. Trail.

I decided to add a New Balance post to Shoeniverse after road testing a host of running and fitness training shoes over the years. I am, and in a lot of ways will always be, a Nike girl. The Chap meanwhile has always favoured Adidas trainers or sneakers. But when we started running and training a lot more frequently, we started to realise that our favourite brands just were not cutting the mustard for us. Not even close.

So we started to experiment with what else was out there. I tried Adidas and they gave me blisters, and when The Chap tried Nike they just fell apart in no time. Both of us had fit issues with Reebok, again much chafing and rubbing was in evidence, and it was only by luck that we started to try New Balance.

I love a competition, and I was lucky enough to win cash to spend at their online store a few months back. Unsure of the trainers, I bought a reduced pair and spent the rest of the online store credit on some new compression gear. Then I waited for the inevitable. Bearing in mind I've also had two knee surgeries to rehab this year, surely they were going to rub, not fit well, be lacking in support or something would be wrong, right? As it happens, they are perfect. For me New Balance trainers are an absolute dream. They've really shown me the value in separating out fashion trainers from fitness shoes.

The Chap has since swapped over too and found the same result. We have different walking and running gaits, yet he too has found them amazingly comfortable and exceptional quality for the money.

We're honestly converted. So I thought I'd pick out a few pairs, and if you are in the market for some new fitness, running or walking trainers, then why not give one of them a try? I've added them after the jump to stop this basically being the longest post in history. Just click any image to get more details.

Samantha's Easy Breezy Monday Edit - featuring the divine Karl Lagerfeld Black Kreepers Suede Chelsea Boots

I found the Karl Lagerfeld 'Kreepers' in the discount haven that is The Outnet this morning, and because I have long harboured a secret crush on the style, felt it was only right that I created an easy to wear Monday outfit post based around them. For when your feet well and truly need a break from towering heels and sky high wedges, these are the perfect style antidote to flat UGG boots and trainers. I am utterly devoted to this style, having had a huge style crush on a suite of 80's and 90's 'yoof' TV mavens. They tick my inner punk girl button. They make me want to go cosplay as Tank Girl.

How can something to simple be so very sexy?

Here's how I'd dress these beauties to make them scream AW14...
