SPRING PLANNING WEEK - Red Hot Date Night

Before I get to this look (my favourite of the week) just a note to mention there might be some minor interruptions to Shoeniverse the next week or so. Today (January 17th) I am being admitted for a knee operation, and as such will probably spend the next week or so on crutches / being generally grumpy and in pain and/or eating copious amounts of chocolate and/or wine. I shall do my very best to not interrupt posting on the blog at all if possible, but due to this being my first knee operation (with the other to follow in the next few months) I am afraid that I don't really know what to expect. Wish me luck!

So... anyway on the outfit :)

I adore this Vivienne Westwood Anglomania gown, but fear not if you are strapped for cash because bodycon midi dresses are literally everywhere this season. Comfy and easy to wear, they can't crease or ever look wrong, and when accessories with clean sparkling silver, the overall look is extremely pretty and sophisticated. This one will absolutely knock him dead*.

Please let me know what you think - I'll be checking in when not attempting to avoid certain death by trying to navigate my house on crutches...

(* Not literally of course, that would be counterintuitive. Unless you are some kind of crazy femme fatale. In which case please get in touch, I'd find you rather fascinating.)

SPRING PLANNING WEEK - Comfy Dress Down Work Day

The key to this look is creating pieces that provide added versatility to your working wardrobe.

I love this look as it is. The dress worn as a tunic will cover a multitude of sins, the shrug can be cast off when it's warmer, likewise the leggings too. But there are also so many ways to work this in with existing pieces to get the most out of it. Add your favourite brogues or ballet pumps if you fancy a day off from heels. Toss on a leather jacket instead of the shrug for an edgier finish. Wear the dress and heels with a sparkly clutch as the perfect evening outfit. The bag is great too - roomy enough to carry a pair of fold up flats and an umbrella for those days when the weather just doesn't go as expected.

This dress is beautiful and a total bargain too. You can SHOP THE LOOK by clicking the product images below.

SPRING PLANNING WEEK - Dance Your Cares Away

This jumpsuit will set you back just £31 in the ASOS sale, and is perfect for a night out with the girls. Let your hair down and dance your cares away... The sequin bustier is perfect for a club, while the orange clutch and bright earrings stop the outfit looking too serious and formal. I also LOVE the little skull ring.

The stars of the ensemble are the McQueen heels, but really any black ankle straps (or nude) would look fantastic too. Not a fan of orange? Then why not try lime green, hot fuchsia pink or bright canary yellow as your bright clash colour?

Would you trade in your trusted LBD for a night out in a one piece?

SPRING PLANNING WEEK - The Stylish Shopper

The Burberry Brit jacket in this outfit mood board is sadly sold out, however there is a waiting list if you wish to register for alerts. Other than that mild annoyance, the revelation of this outfit has to be the delicate little nude slings by none other than our very own Charlotte Dellal aka Charlotte Olympia. They are so subtle and simple that they could easily be mistaken for one of the more classic designer lines.

My favourite piece is the champagne and gold silk McQueen scarf. A girl can never have too many skulls. It stops finished result looking too twee, as does the animal print shopper. Whilst I like the bag (sort of...) I still don't think I'd ever actually use a bag like this, despite knowing full well that it's absolutely perfect and appropriate for the rest of the look. I am not sure I will ever gte over my aversion to the tackiness of animal print. I blame this woman.

So what do you think? For a splash of colour the jacket could be swapped for an oxblood tone, or you could try dark brown jeans or cords. But it's a very wearable look for being out and about when it's just not warm enough to just be in a top. Hope you like it.

SPRING PLANNING WEEK - The Weekend Garden Party // The Sunny Wedding

I thought it might be fun, amidst all of the flooding and dreary cold, dark morning, if we were to look ahead to sunnier times and do some fantasy shopping for Spring clothes. I am starting off with this little ensemble which immediately I thought you could wear to a family barbeque (well, ok admittedly perhaps without the fascinator...), casual wedding, or even just for a lunch with the girls. Because it's not formal, you could also dress the shift down with wedge trainers, and the heels of course would work just as well with a LBD for evening, meaning that not only do the pieces work really well together, but they also add many different uses and options into your wardrobe.

As always, not everyone will be able to splash out and treat themselves to the Saint Laurent sandals. But you will be able to find other alternatives and just use the mood board as inspiration. If you do want to find out more about anything featured or buy any of the pieces then please just click the image of the individual items below to go shopping!
