MCQ BY ALEXANDER MCQUEEN Beige Bombe Sandals

If ever there was a masterclass on how 'to-do' certain things in design then I wish we could bring back the late great Alexander McQueen to give some of the other designers out there some pointers. Luckily for us the McQueen name and brands lives on, and styles like Bombe show teach us two highly important lessons that should be taken note of elsewhere:

1) How to incorporate mesh into a shoe without making the end result look trashy

2) How to use black against nude patent without the end result looking cheap

I simply adore these elegant heels who have bravely taken a face to face staredown with 'stripper' pitfalls and come out on top.


They are a worthy high fashion addition to your shoe closet if they are within your shoe budget - what do you think? Yes or no?

GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI Yellow Metallic Colourblock Heels

It's time I addressed coloured metallics, a trend that to be fair I've yet to fully embrace. It's ok, as a concept, but you won't see me rushing out to strap them to my feet anytime soon. Having said that, these pretty colourblock pumps from Giuseppe Zanotti are the pick of the styles that I've seen so far, and for evening, worn just with black, they would probably work. I just get the feeling they would be working on someone other than me. The shoe of course itself, as a style, is divine and beautiful as always.

Maybe he needs to bring these out in fuchsia, red and orange and maybe I'll be sold on them?



The shoes themselves look pretty when worn (naturally).

Marc Jacobs has well and truly brought the keenly pointed toe to flats this season. I actually really like the vintage feel of these nautical flats, and they are sure to be a go-to staple for anyone who has them for SS13 daytime looks. The great thing about them is they are just so very versatile.


Wear them with neutrals, or navy and cherry red. If you love flats and pointy toes then these might just be your new BFFs! I'm unsure if I could wear them personally because I am fairly sure they just wouldn't feel right (ignore me, I can be majorly weird with flats) but they look incredible and I just know that on other people they would look amazing.

Here at Shoeniverse, there is always room for a good quality, well constructed but above all beautiful nude wedge. The latest inductee into the 'gorgeous club' is Bela from Belle by Sigerson Morrison, which is among the best examples of nude wedge seen so far for SS13. Let's take a look around the curves...


They look so soft and comfy to wear. The quality of the leather looks amazing. Surprisingly, they come in at £170 too - when really I wouldn't have been surprised to see them costing twice that.

Wear them easily with coloured jeans and a simple top for subtle glam.

Summer is always great because you start to see one of my all-time favourite colour combinations - fuchsia and red! It always looks so cheerful and happy, that whenever I see it, especially in heels, it fills me with glee. When they also are mixed media like these red suede and pink leather sandals from Iro, then you just know that I am a very very happy girl! The little string tassle bow at the back of the heel is a fantastic little touch too.


If I could pair them with anything, it would have to be this gorgeous floaty Matthew Williamson dress.

These are hands down my favourite heeled sandal of the moment. So this is just a celebration of a pair of shoes that I love and I very much hope that you will too. They can be added to your shoe closet for £488, and I really wish I could own them. Stunning.

Ooh - pretty bow front pumps always make me so happy! These delightful Floria pumps from Ivanka Trump are down to just £63 at Nordstrom now too - so it felt like it was high time they got some loving from the Shoeniverse audience. They are feminine and girlie and deliciously understated - they are near impossible to not fall madly in love with in fact.


So lovely - let's see if we can make this a pretty outfit for under £100 shall we? If I had to pair these with something, it should be sweet and colourful but quite demure. What do you think of this?
