I do not really approve of barefoot wedges. In principle they are very clever etc and as a concept piece they are fine, however take them off the runway and for me they are just a little bit silly looking. I wouldn't go there and these barefoot wedges from SW1 are a perfect example of why. Adding a small golden monkey will do nothing to change my mind I'm afraid. Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd have to type on Shoeniverse!

The small golden monkey, for me, asks more questions than it answers. Why a monkey? Why just the one? Did he not have any monkey friends for the other shoe? What do I feel about wearing already strange shoes that now don't even match? What's the little monkey fella holding too - what is that gem meant to represent?
Mind. Is. Blown.
Unfortunately I am not blown away by the shoes.

As wedges they would have been fine although too thick and clumpy in black but would have been quite sweet in nude suede. I just think that the barefoot cutaway wedge in addition to our little Monkey Magic friend is pushing things a little bit too far. If you disagree click below to find out more and buy them.
